What can we say?
The Brandon Family is the reality of our community. The church has grown over many years, former members and friends still pop by, or get in touch and sometimes even join us on outings and especially at events. Like any family, we don’t always get things right, or agree on everything, but we do try to listen and help one another to learn. Most of us live within Camberwell, but we have members who travel from across Southwark and further afield. We come together as one church in Camberwell, united in Jesus.
The community of the church range in age from toddlers, to those still young at heart – but age over 90. We also have a small children’s group, a small cohort of teenagers and a larger adult community. One of the wonderful aspects of Brandon is the rich history we hold between us, in backgrounds, experiences and wisdom. We have members from across the world and try to honour one another’s life stories. You’ll be able to find some of our stories soon in the Our Stories section.
As a Baptist Church we believe in the priesthood of all believers, meaning that we all have a role to play in caring for each other and discerning God’s leading in this local church community. In terms of big decisions and church organisation, we hold members meetings several times a year. These are places for the members of the church to discuss church business and faith matters and to listen to one another.
We also regularly have meals together after our worship services, these are a great time of sharing and socialising with one another. And the Christmas Party is always fun!
This section is a work in progress, much like we are.
