Brandon Baptist Church, Camberwell

A community united in Jesus

We have a messy rainbow cross of many colours as our logo. The cross reflects the uniting centre of our focus – the death and resurrection of Jesus. The colours are different because we all see and may bring different stories in our faith in Jesus. The squares are messy and not neat and tidy because they reflect our stories which are not always neat and tidy. At the centre of the cross is a heart, reflecting the love of God for the world.

About Brandon – Who are we?

About Brandon – Who are we?

Brandon is a Baptist church situated on a large housing estate in Northern Camberwell, south-east London. We are situated in the London Borough of Southwark. The church is a 30 minute walk from Vauxhall Bridge, the nearest crossing over the Thames, and 20 mins walk from Oval (Northern Line) our nearest Tube station.

Our congregation is diverse in many ways and the richness this brings to our community is invaluable. We are constantly learning more about each other and are a place which is prepared to learn more!

While some of our members live further away, most live within a mile of the church building and many have long connections with the Brandon family.

The church was initially established by C.H. Spurgeon and his brother James along with a group of others in 1885 when a plot of land was purchased in nearby Councillor Street.
